Calcium hypochlorite is the hypochlorite of calcium. It is one of the main components of bleaching powder. It has bactericidal and oxidizing properties. Similar to their properties are chlorine and sodium hypochlorite, but they are not as stable as calcium hypochlorite. This product is mainly used for bleaching pulp in papermaking industry and bleaching cotton, linen and silk fabrics in textile industry. It is also used for sterilization and disinfection of urban and rural drinking water and swimming pool water.
